What were some of your favorite quotes? What talk stood out to you the most?
Here are the first 3 printables that I have created from conference quotes, and also the reasons why I selected them:
1. The ever-so-popular two word sermon by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf: STOP IT.
“This topic of judging others could actually be taught in a two-word sermon,” he said. “When it comes to hating, gossiping, ignoring, ridiculing, holding grudges, or wanting to cause harm—please apply the following: Stop it!”
Although I try really hard to avoid these things, it seems as though one or more of them still pop up in my life. I find myself ignoring people that make me feel uncomfortable; I gossip (not to be destructive--I just find myself "stating the truth" to people who probably don't need to hear it, no matter how badly I want to vent); etc. Throughout the whole talk, I found ways to overcome my grudges and forgive people who have recently offended me. I felt so at peace and vowed to change my behaviors right away.
I immediately knew I wanted to do a printable with that quote...but I couldn't think of a "pretty" way to portray something SO important. Here was my first take. Bold. Boring, but bold.

I am kind of embarrassed at how plain and boring my first attempt at this amazing quote was...seriously. Please forgive me. I hope you like the progress I made on this second try. I went ahead and designed a new version for your viewing, downloading, and printing pleasure. Let me please introduce to you (drumroll, please).....version 2!!

2. The President Monson quote, "You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right." (Shared during Elder Ulisses Soares' talk.)
I just love the simplicity of this statement. How true it is that we will never go wrong if we are doing what's right, and that we can never have true joy if we are doing what is wrong. This is a way to know which path to take--if you are doing something good, then it's probably right!

3. The hilarious bumper sticker quote shared by President Uchtdorf, "Don't judge me because I sin differently than you."
This quote stood out to me because we often see the sins of others and think their sins are so awful, when those people could look right back at our sins and think the same thing. I always want to remember that my life will be so much better if I choose not to judge others for things I see them doing that I disagree with.
