Perfect Love Casteth Out All Fear

My friend Alison recently got married and requested a custom printable to display at her wedding, and then to eventually hang in her living room. She and her hubby have a favorite scripture that has helped strengthened them as a couple: "...Perfect love casteth out all fear" (Found both in the New Testament in 1 John 4:18, as well as the Book of Mormon in Moroni 8:16).

(Here's a beautiful coincidence--I started writing this post and out of the blue, Alison texted me with a picture of her printable framed on her wall! Doesn't it look great? She requested that their names and wedding date be on the printable as a reminder of the day they covenanted to be together for eternity.)

I love this scripture as well, and I feel as though it really applies to my marriage. My husband is the only person who has ever made me feel completely safe and secure. Because we love each other as perfectly as we know how (and try harder every day), neither of us are afraid; we aren't afraid of the other person's day-to-day feelings, we aren't afraid of being parted at death, and we aren't afraid to be honest to one another. I know my husband loves me, and therefore I have nothing to fear. He feels the same way.

In regards to our relationship with Jesus Christ, He loves us even more perfectly than we could ever comprehend. He sacrificed everything for us. His love opens the door for us to repent, be made whole, and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Because He loves us perfectly, we have nothing to fear spiritually. Christ loves you perfectly, and so you don't have to be afraid of death, of trials, of temptations, or the world. Trust in Christ and cast out all of your fears!

I modified Alison's printable so that it could be shared today with all friends and fellow believers. Do you know someone you could share it with? Please leave your comments below!

How has your faith in Christ's perfect love helped to cast out your fears?
