I love that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As this exciting holiday approaches (EEK! Only 24 days!!), I have been decorating my home and trying to invite the Spirit to be more present than ever. I finished all of my Christmas shopping already so that I don't have to stress about that! I get to spend my time enjoying the season instead of worrying about getting everything done.
My daughter loves our simply decorated Christmas tree, the lights around our living room, and the little Fisher-Price Nativity Set that my mother bought for her first Christmas.
I am looking for every opportunity I can this season to teach my daughter about Christ. We listen to uplifting Christmas music (especially the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing...heaven!) and try to offer lots of service to friends and neighbors. I have tried to tell my one-year-old that the hymns and carols we sing about the Savior are to praise Him for His life and His condescension.
I hope that when people enter my home, they can feel the Spirit of Christ during the Christmas season, as well as year-round.
To help you invite the Spirit into your home as you decorate and enjoy this amazing holiday, I have whipped up a few (well...8...and I'll probably do some more as the month goes on) Christmas printables! These printables are all centered on Christ, His love, and hymns of praise. I encourage you to use them however you'd like-- in your Visiting Teaching or in your lessons or as gifts to your loved ones.
Let the festivities begin! Merry Christmas!
How are you bringing the Spirit into your home this Christmas season?
