I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus

One of the songs that I sing to my daughter the most is "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus" from the LDS Children's Songbook. It's a song that is often on my mind and one that teaches such a powerful message.

I received a request a few weeks ago for the chorus of the song to be made into a printable, and I jumped at the opportunity.

“Love one another as Jesus loves you.
Try to show kindness in all that you do.
Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought,
For these are the things Jesus taught.”

I wish that more people applied these simple principles to their lives. Think about it--if everyone were to try and treat others with kindness and love, our world would be such a better place. There would be less crime, less hatred, less violence, and less anger. We would have a world of peace. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, taught in such a simple and powerful way. If only people could understand!

I am trying to teach my daughter the things that Jesus taught and I am more focused on setting a good example and living the principles myself.

How are you teaching others the things Jesus taught?
