Spring is Finally Here! (And Summer is Coming!)

I think God set up the seasons of the year so well. He created the winter so that we could appreciate hot chocolate, sitting by the fire, playing in the snow, and snuggling up with our loved ones. Then He purposefully made winter feel wayyyy too long so that we would be ready for spring. He must have known that we would better appreciate the flowers blooming, the sun shining, and the "April showers." :)

Then, He made spring so warm and cheery that we look forward to the summer. We get anxious for the beach, for swimming pools, and for late evening BBQs. This is where I have found myself the last few days--I finally feel like spring has truly arrived, and I am already getting excited for the increasing warmth as we prepare for summer.

My husband and I recently moved out-of-state for an internship, and we are spending the majority of our spring and summer seasons away from our family and friends. I have reflected lately on how important it is that we have seasons in our lives. This "season" of life is already proving to be a blessing for us, even though it is different than what we have experienced before. This is our time to be our own family unit, our time to start living our dreams, our time to grow in the gospel.

I enjoy these verses in Ecclesiastes 3 that remind us that it is God's plan to have seasons that we experience, not only in weather changes during the year, but in life experiences:

 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I love the spring, I love the summer, and I love the scriptures. I love my "season" of life, and look forward to the others that God has in store for me. These printables are just fun reminders that it is finally warm outside! I hope you enjoy displaying them in your homes, or using them to brighten someone's day.

What is going on in your season of life?
