He Lives

On this Easter Sunday, I praise and worship our loving Father in Heaven for the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. I can't imagine what it must have been like for God to watch His perfect Son suffer, bleed, and die for the sins of men. I gave birth to my first son two weeks ago, and it is impossible for me to comprehend the pain I would feel if I lost my sweet baby boy--let alone to allow him to suffer as much as the Lord did.

The Savior of the world has given His life that we may live with God forever. I know that this is true. Easter is the day that we celebrate His life and His Atonement, which wasn't fully complete until Christ rose from the grave. He is the Conqueror of death. His sacrifice provides each of us the opportunity to repent, be forgiven, be made clean, and have the hope of eternal life. We will each be resurrected because He was resurrected.

I KNOW that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives.

How did you celebrate the Savior's Atonement this Easter?

Cast Not Away Your Confidence

Wow! To all of you reading this, I have to say a big THANK YOU! My blog hit over 100,000 page views, which is a big milestone for me. I know some blogs receive that in days/minutes/hours, but hey, progress is progress, right? :) If you haven't officially started following LDS Printables, please Like on Facebook and hit the follow button! You won't be disappointed!

I also wanted to say that this will be one of my last posts for a few weeks. I'm due to deliver my baby boy any day now, and will be taking some time off to bond with my family. I am confident that things will go well and my husband, daughter, and I are eagerly awaiting his arrival!

I received a request for a printable to be made from Hebrews 10:35-36 which says, "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise." I wanted to continue on with trying out the chalkboard printable style...hope you like it!

I think that this scripture has marvelous application to our lives. If we are confident and faithful in the Lord and His promises, we need to exercise our patience and do God's will--THEN He will grant us His promises. I have seen evidence of this in my life over and over. Some promises of my patriarchal blessing were only fulfilled after I was patient and did what God asked, or I receive blessings from paying my tithing after I have paid, not because I plan to pay, etc.

It is so easy to grow impatient and lose our confidence, whether it be in God or in ourselves. We need to remember that the scriptures say that after we have exercised our faith, the seeds will grow. We cannot forget that principle.

I just looked up what "recompence" (current English spelling is "recompense") means, and the dictionary says, "Compensation or reward given for loss or harm suffered or effort made." HOW INSPIRING! God knows that our trials will cause us loss and harm, but we will be rewarded for our patience through these trials. WE WILL RECEIVE HIS PROMISED BLESSINGS IF WE DO HIS WILL.

I know that through Christ, this is possible. All things are possible. Stay faithful, stay confident, and endure with patience, my friends.

How have you seen promised blessings come to you or your family as you exercise patience?
