About LDS Printables

Hello friends! I'm Nikki, the woman behind the art here at LDS Printables. I have an incredible, supportive husband as my best friend and together we have a dynamic and too-smart-for-her-own-good little girl and just had our angelic baby boy in March. They are the loves of my life and I couldn't be happier. I have wrinkles at the corners of my eyes because I smile and laugh a lot. {Sometimes at my own jokes...okay...always at my own jokes!} I love my religion and the blessings it brings to me.

Why I offer free printables:

LDS Printables is a blog that I have created on my own, and every printable posted is free for download and personal use. Many of my friends and family have asked me why I offer them for no charge. Here's the story: As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have the privilege of attending the temple as often as I would like to worship God and His Son. In the temple, members of the Church make solemn promises (or covenants) to the Lord. One of the covenants has always stood out to me, and that covenant is to dedicate our lives (and everything God gives us, including talents) to serving Him and building up His church. One day in the temple I felt strongly that I should use my graphic design talents {no matter how mediocre they may be!} to bless the lives of others, and I wanted my design to be a contribution to building His kingdom. So, I set about to begin designing printables with quotes, thoughts, and songs that came to my mind that are "virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy," and I started the LDS Printables blog. By offering my designs for no charge, I feel as though I am giving people the opportunity to print, post, share, display, etc., their happy feelings of the gospel in their homes or with their neighbors, especially if they can't afford the other incredible design that is available around the Internet. That's it! It's my humble contribution and the sacrifice is so rewarding.

I try to work with requests:

Every artist or designer I know hits creative slumps every now and then. I love to get requests for specific quotes, scriptures, or themes that you would like a printable for--it keeps me from hitting those slumps, and it seems to make the receiver pretty happy. Since my first priority in life is wife/mommy, it may take me some time to get a printable made up, but I'll do my best to design something as soon as I can. I also prefer that the requests are gospel-oriented, since that's the purpose of this blog, and quotes that many people can use or relate to. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I do printables in Spanish:

I have been getting quite a few requests for printables in Spanish! I am so happy to have the Spanish community as active visitors to LDS Printables. My husband speaks Spanish fluently but is not a native speaker, so sometimes he isn't sure of the best way to say things. If you would like a printable made in Spanish, please provide the proper translation (or a link to the talk/article) and that will make life much easier! With two kids and an Etsy shop on the side, please be patient with me as I try to get them completed.

I am willing to do printables in other languages:

I have also been getting requests for my printables to be redone in other languages, such as Italian and Portuguese. I am thrilled that people from so many countries around the world have found LDS Printables. If you would like a printable made in another language, please provide the proper translation, a link to the talk/article/quote, and which printable you would like redone. Thank you to my visitors from places such as Brazil, Russia, Canada, Australia, the UK, Philippines, Mexico, Ukraine, Spain, New Zealand, and more!

For those of you with unique requests:

I have been getting quite a few requests that I am unable to meet for various reasons, and I apologize for that! Some quotes/ideas are specific to a Girl's camp or New Beginnings theme, some are for individual wards or branches, or some are quotes or thoughts that aren't generic enough for many of my readers to use. I try to put up printables that many people can download and use, and most are fairly general. If you have a specific request that you would like made up, I do offer a discount for customized LDS prints in my Etsy shop. I only charge for the small amount of time it takes me to create your customized print. This allows me the freedom to still create generic prints for my LDS Printables readers, but also allows you to have beautiful, customized art in your home or ward for a very low cost. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email or contact me via Etsy, and I'll be happy to help you. Thank you again for your support and understanding as I try to balance my time as a wife, mother, designer, and blogger!

  3. What a great site. Thanks so much for your work! I have a request and can't find your e-mail address (probably because my computer is lame.) I would love to see "Be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work." I've wanted to give that scriptures to my VTing sisters for a while, but haven't found it online anywhere. Thanks again for sharing your talents with us!

    2. One of my favorite quotes from this past conf. (April 2013) is from Elder Bednar. "Will I respond to the inclinations of the natural man, or will I yield to the enticings of the Holy Spirit and put off the natural man and become a saint through the Atonement of Christ the Lord?"

  4. I just stumbled onto your blog. THANK YOU!!! I'm going to print several of these and turn them into a photo quiet book for my little baby because someday he won't be so little and will need some occupying during church.

I thought it would be neat if you made a printable every month to go with the Visiting Teaching message. Just an idea. :)

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  5. What an awesome resource - thanks for sharing your talents! Question: is there a particular size that the printables are designed to be printed at?

    1. You're welcome! And thank YOU for the compliment! My printables are designed as 8x10, so they would print great at 5x7 or something too!

  8. I think it is an amazing blessing to have members like yourself, who truly understand the principles of the gospel and the commitments we make in the temple. Thank you for your sacrifice and service. Your printables are super cute!

  9. I just found your site. I am so grateful for your service and sharing your wonderful talents. It is eveident you have the light of Christ within you. Since I read you like suggestions, here's a challenge for you... I am trying to do a photo for my boys room. I envision a map of the world with the words, "We'll bring the world His truth" written across the front. So cute right?! Right except that I am not sure how to do it. Any chance you could make a printable like that? I am thinking tan or vintage map with green, orange or blue writing across the front. Thanks again! Keep up the great work and good luck with your upcoming baby! Congratulations.

  14. Thank you so much for sharing your talent so generously! I really do appreciate it! I can't wait to have some of the pictures printed out. They will be great gifts to my families. As a matter of fact, you could consider adding Chinese to your wonderful collection! Oh, I do have a question. Are the printable images good enough for a 8x10 or larger prints? Once again, THANK YOU! You are wonderful!

    1. Tiff--if you could provide the Chinese, I'd be happy to try and work something up. I've never done anything with the Chinese language before, so I wouldn't even know where to begin! All of my printables are set for an 8x10, but most of them would probably be fine if they were enlarged or shrunk--I've had some people print them larger and they turned out great!

  15. I LOVE your site!! Thank you so much for all these great printables. I especially love that you did the Child of God one in Italian! Perfect for my little guy who is hopefully picking up a little Italian from his dad who served his mission in Italy. I was just wondering if you have suggestions on where to print these out. I know a lot of websites or places to print but I was just wanting to know if you have recommendations for specific websites/companies or to print them as photos or just on cardstock.I guess just any printing tips would be great!!

    1. Katelyn, thanks for your comment! I usually print things at Sam's Club or Office Max. If I want something to be photo quality (glossy or whatever), Sam's Club has the cheapest prices that I've found. But most of my prints look just fine on a nice cardstock, and you can get an 8x10 printed for a buck or two at Office Max. Once they're framed, you can't see much of a difference! I hope that helps!

  17. Hi Nikki! Thank you for your sharing your talents with everyone. One of my favorite quotes that has sustained me through a rough year is "Trust in God's will, trust in His way of doing things, and trust in His timetable" by Dallin H. Oaks. Another one - "Fear and faith cannot exist in our hearts at the same time" by Neil L Anderson. I think there are probably a lot of variations on that one. I am putting together a book of printables and advice from return missionaries for my daughter who will be leaving for a mission on February 19th with. Thank you for offering this site as I plan to use many of your printables in the book.

    1. Beth! I just posted the fear and faith quote for you! Hopefully that leaves you enough time to print it out for your missionary. Congrats, and good luck!

    2. Hi Nikki! Once again, thank you for offering your talents in this way. I LOVE the Neil L. Anderson printable you created! In your "spare time", if you are looking for a new idea for a printable, the following scripture has come to mean something special to me over the last few years. When I was going through the same difficult time I mentioned previously, one day I came across this scripture that I had read so many times before but had not struck me as it did that day. It was a reminder to me of all the things I needed to change in MYSELF instead of trying to change those around me. I wanted to print it out and post it where I can see it daily to remind me of the qualities I am striving to achieve. Unfortunately, the printables I found does not meet my need. I would love to see a printable where the words "submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things" are somehow emphasized. If you're looking for a new printable idea, this is my suggestion: Mosiah 3:19 Thanks!

  19. You are amazing! Thank you so much for offering this talent to the whole world. My mom has been having some rough few home school days and I am hoping that one of these will help her feel better. I decided to use your quote: "All bad days will come to an end." I hope this simple gift will help her feel better. I am so proud to have another person standing up for their religion on the internet. I am also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and proud of it. You are right, my gospel and yours brings great blessings, to us, and to the people around us. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. And that Heavenly Father is my father and yours, my God and your God. I say this, and am fully aware of what I am saying.

Thank you so much for your talents.

    Love,

    Gracie

  20. Nikki, You are a very talented person and I thank you for sharing your talents with others. You truly abide by the principles you learn in the holy and sacred temples of the LDS church. I am appreciative of the opportunity to use this material to bring the spirit of God into our home and uplift and instruct our children. These are wonderful daily reminders of what truly matters in this life and our preparation for the one to come based on obeying and abiding by the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
